Kids Who Cook for Spring Break

Kids Spring Break, Have fun and Learn to Cook with Chef Irene!!

So why cook when you can go out to eat?

Oh My, there are many reasons!!

Let me do the work, I love to work with kids and you won’t have the mess. I have the patience along with the knowledge to show the kids safety measures, cutting techniques, and how to properly follow a recipe.

Kids feel good about themselves when they have created something special that they can show their parents. They take pride in doing it themselves as all my classes are hands on for sure. It boosts their confidence and learning other cultures and what they eat  is so important. Everyone likes different foods and if they learn many , they can satisfy themselves as well as being creative.

Once they learn the basics, they can teach siblings and parents as well. Surprise the parents and make a meal a week as a gift or just a way to help out Mom or Dad while they are busy working. It helps them appreciate what it takes to make a meal, from shopping , reading ingredients, cost and learning from start to finish what it takes INCLUDING cleaning up.

Kids learn to like many different foods and vegetables especially. When they make the meal , they tend to try many different things and learn the difference in cooking techniques, like frying, sauteing, baking, roasting.

Oh and don’t forget they are learning Math skills!! What is a teaspoon, tablespoon, cup, ½ cup, and how do you measure?

They are practicing reading and comprehension with terrific results. They want to do it over and over.

And PARENTS, it will put you at ease knowing your kids know how to cook. It is defiantly cheaper, much healthier, and you won’t have to worry if your now around, that they can handle it safely by themselves.

Food is a great way to gather friends and family ! It always brings people together and whether it is sharing a meal with a small group or creating a party to celebrate a special occasion, food always creates a great atmosphere for sharing time and conversation.

I would love to be a part of teaching your children to cook, we can also learn table setting, manners, decorating a table with special décor, along with just being creative. Let the kids feel special, use their abilities and share the joy of cooking together.
